Studying abroad:
The Cologne University of Applied Science, campus Gummersbach enables studying abroad with a corporation with the Erasmus program. It offers scholarships and exchange programs with overall 292 partner universities all over the world.

A special program of the campus Gummersbach is the “Double Degree Program”
Double Degree Program:
The Double Degree Program is an international degree program, which comprises two semester at the CDAHW, a part of the Tongji-University in Shanghai. The first semester the students visit lectures into the university and during the second semester they perform an internship semester at a regional company. Also the bachelor thesis has to be written at this company. After that the students get degrees of both schools.

Hot Spots of the College

This section contains an overview of the characteristic and interesting locations of the Cologne University of Applied Science, campus Gummersbach. Selected photos shall give a flavor of the “College Life” in Gummersbach.
The whole campus in Gummersbach is influenced by the technical aspect. Minimalistic and functional design combined with high quality technical equipment are characteristic of the campus. Due to the modern architecture it is easy to see that the buildings are comparative new.

Building A:
Building A is the main building of the campus. It contains fourteen seminar rooms with 36 up to 79 seats, which are used for lectures and seminars. Also sixty-five laboratories and PC-pools take place into Building A.
Laboratories:
The following photos show five exemplary laboratories of campus Gummersbach.

There are different PC pools for different application possibilities. Some are freely useable for all students another can only be used with a professor.

Exercise rooms:
Four exercise rooms can freely be used by the students for team and individual work.

Coffee Bar:
The coffee bar into building A west is the meeting point of the college. It offers snacks, soft drinks, coffee and sandwiches for the same prices like in the canteen.

Building B:
Building B is the auditorium of the campus. It includes three big lecture halls, which are sponsored and named by the regional companies BPW, FERCHAU Engineering and OPITZ CONSULTING. Overall they provide seats for 817 students.
FERCHAU lecture hall:
The FERCHAU lecture hall is the biggest with 524 seats.

If needed it is possible to part the FERCHAU lecture hall into two halls through an extendable partition wall.

Also a laboratory bench is installed into the lecture hall. It contains several connections, which are necessary for physics experiments. To enable all students a good view, the experiments are projected on four big screens.

Library:

Into the library, which is one of four university libraries, the students can borrow several media like books, newspaper, CD’s/DVD’S and e-books free of charge. The loan period amounts twenty days and can be extended two times. Books can be reserved online and into the library.
A self-service point for searching, reservation and return is also available.

Canteen:

The campus Gummersbach has its own canteen, which is managed by the “Kölner Studentenwerk”. Students can get a meal for 2,40 €, which includes one main dish and three freely selectable side dishes and desserts. Also a salad bar and numerous snacks and drinks are offered for moderate prices.
Student council:

The student council in Gummersbach is part of the AStA, which is the official representation of all students of Cologne University of Applied Science and is elected by student parliament. They offer many services and organize some campaigns.
